Deep Fried Advertising is a boutique ad firm / design house / web development company located in Uptown New Orleans, LA. We work with small to large business alike, specializing in unique, creative and well-executed solutions that are current and workable. We pride ourselves on our client relationships, dependable service, rich talent, and our ability to keep up with the Jones. We are searching for a Web Developer / Graphic Designer to work in conjunction with the staff, clients and vendors to develop, design and produce beautiful web + print. This position will require the ability to communicate effectively with clients, manage many projects at a time, plan accordingly, meet deadlines, and do awesome work that you are proud of.

WEB //

•    Website Design / Photoshop Comping

•    HTML / CSS using current web standards

•    Wordpress / CMS

•    Dreamweaver / Hand-coding

•    Organic SEO

•    PHP / XML / ASP

•    Javascript

•    Flash / Action Script

•    E-commerce

•    Understanding of back-end and hosting fundamentals

•    Fluency in current web development technologies and trends

•    Address varying needs of clients with creativity, adaptability, and thorough knowledge of web development

•    Examples of work: Website development / creation / programming, E-Marketing Campaigns, Shopping carts, Content management, Cross-Browser Testing, Blogging, Flash design, Troubleshooting

PRINT //

•    Photoshop / InDesign / Illustrator

•    Appreciation for Typography / Font Management

•    Familiarity with Paper Types

•    Understanding of file types, color modes and resolution, especially in relation to various print media

•    Quality Control and careful inspection throughout job completion

•    Production & Print Management & Supervision / Vendor Management

EXPERIENCE //

Experience is all relative. You may be fresh out of school or you may have 10 years experience under your belt. We are looking for talent.

PAY //

Seeking Intern (part-time / contract)

OVERVIEW //

We are currently seeking an intern for 10-25 hours weekly who has studied and has an interest in pursuing graphic / web design and advertising as a career.  This is not a position for someone who is vaguely considering a career in marketing: in this position you will be asked to help with administrative and organizational duties which will familiarize you with the ins and outs of working in an advertising environment, you will also be asked to put the pedal to the metal and crank out designs and/or programming as well.  You will learn how to apply what you have learned in school to the real world; you will learn levels of advertising outside of just the creative; you will learn that your designs often aren’t going to work for the client; you will learn how to actually work with printers and build files that function in the real world; you will learn a lot if you try.  Flexible schedule and light-hearted atmosphere, but looking only for serious, aspiring designers with a desire to learn and grow in this deadline-oriented environment.
