French Market Corporation owns the historic French Market in New Orleans’ French Quarter, known as America’s oldest continuously operating public market (since 1791!) In more recent years, the Market has grown into a bustling 6-block tourism district including many shops and restaurants and the Farmers and Flea Markets.

Destination: culture.

Deep Fried has worked with French Market Corporation since 2009. Our partnership began with a complete rebrand after a large renovation to their Farmers and Flea Markets. With our branding strategy and creative design, the French Market District has helped to restore New Orleans’ Riverfront as a top cultural, commercial and entertainment destination in the region for international tourists.

Logo REDESIGN

We redesigned the French Market District logo in 2017, making it a more modern, airy and legible mark.

It’s Always a Party at The French Market District

New Orleans is renowned for its dazzling events. The French Market District is home to some of our top annual celebrations, where you can enjoy the best of our city’s unique culture and artistry.

A festival that’s ripe for the pickin’.

The French Market’s Creole Tomato Festival has been happening each June since the 1980’s. The festival celebrates the Creole tomato season, with live music, food vendors, a bloody mary market, tomato-eating contests and more. In 2018 we rebranded the kitschy event to have its own logo with eye-catching colors and a homegrown feel.

Crescent Park

A brand ahead of the curve.

An extension of the French Market District is Crescent Park, an urban linear park that runs along the Mississippi River touching the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods. Beginning in 2015 we developed branding for the newly-acquired park including a logo, website, and advertisements.

The park itself is a juxtaposition of greenery and flora mixed with rusty industrial structures. The branding reflects those urban tones. One of the main entrances to the park is a climb over the “Rusty Rainbow” – an arched bridge that crosses over train tracks – an icon of the park and to which the logo pays homage.
